Upper ferry boat used during the building of Haverhill bridge, looking towards Bradford. First ferry trip was June 27, 1873 for 1 cent per trip. The ferry boat ran from Bradford railroad station to the rear of the Post Office at 56-60 Merrimack Street, nearly opposite Fleet Street. Several men are on the ferry. "Views of Haverhill and Vicinity" on recto. Stereograph: mount has two copies of the same photograph. "4225" & "Has been enlarged" on verso. Photographer A. W. Anderson, circa 1873. |
