Bradford Station, railroad crossing and men, Bradford, Haverhill. Five men are standing on the left, center and right of the tracks. The small station with cupola and weathervane is on the right in the background, small shacks on both sides. The man on the left is in uniform with hat, and has his hand on a tall lever. The other men are in street clothes, except for the man on the right who may be in uniform without a hat. The men are not identified. Railroad crossing signs on the left and right. Houses in the background on the left and right. Inscription on verso: "Bradford Station / before elevation of tracks was completed [circa 1905-6] / Weathervane of Bradford Station with B&M on it is on a barn on Kingsbury Ave / belonging to Perley Bailey 1989." Inkstamp on verso: "W P Johnson," photo by Walter Peabody Johnson, original image late 19th or early 20th century. Photo is 13 x 17 cm mounted on cardboard 28 x 36 cm. |
