John Greenleaf Whittier Birthplace barn, 305 Whittier Road, Haverhill. Large two story barn, pale color, with weathervane. View of front and right sides. Small shed attached on the left with two doors, open. Three men and two donkeys hitched to a wagon are in front of the shed. Another man standing by a fence on the right. The people are not identified. Inscription on verso: "The barns at Whittier's birthplace / Burnt 1970 Replaced by one from Bradford / Photo by Reginald Simpson." Inkstamp: "For Duplicate order from Neg. No. [430 in ink] / Aug 10 1916." Photo is 10 x 13 cm mounted on cardboard 16 x 18 cm. |
