Other people waving at the train in the background. Pennants or decoration strung on utility poles on the right. Typed label on verso: "Gift of George E. Hale of West Newbury. / The Freedom Train at Haverhill, Mass. October 22, 1947. Lt. Col. Robert Scott commanding officer of his son, Herbert Hale while on Johnson Island just before Pearl Harbor." It is not indicated which man is Scott and which is Hale. Photo is 9 x 13 cm mounted on cardboard 26 x 36 cm. |
