City Hospital, Haverhill; a nurse in her living quarters. She has dark hair and is wearing her uniform with apron; she is seated, facing right, at a small table. The dresser and a mirror are on the left, a corner of her bed is seen at lower right corner, door on the right. Nurse is not identified. Original image taken in 1897. The print identifies it on the verso as Hale Hospital. City Hospital was renamed Hale Hospital in 1898; in 1901 the new Hale Hospital was opened on Buttonwoods Avenue. The same nurse appears in HN2 Senter F4x5 13-16, 13-17; prints 33-449A, 33-450C, 33-454F. Copy negative. |
