Description |
Brooks-Dias House, fireplace, 1159 Main Street, Haverhill. Stone fireplace, fire in the grate, with tools and screen on the left. Above the fireplace are garlands with Christmas cards attached, and a scene with toy reindeer and sleigh figures is on the mantel. On the left and right walls a mural of Venice, Italy is partly visible with Campanile di San Marco tower and lagoon with gondolas on the right; painted by Minna P. Needham Brooks. Inscription on verso: "Brooks Dias House / 1159 Main St / 1950's / Venetian mural in dining room." Formerly 885 Main Street. Another copy states it was taken during the occupancy of John Dias during the 1940s-50s. Deckle edge snapshot photograph. |
