Three stories including cupola on roof, clapboard with dark shutters, two story extension in rear, front porch / portico. Trees in the yard, fence around the yard. Inscription below right: "Elliott St. / Mrs. Cote / Mrs. Atwood." Inscription on verso: "Maternal Acres." Home of Samuel Elliott, shoe manufacturer. Named "Maternal Acres" because house was on the land of Mrs. Elliott's family, the Ayers. Red and white label on mount with ink number "5008." Image probably late 19th century. Photo is 15 x 21 cm mounted on cardboard 26 x 36 cm. |
