American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions monument, Bradford Common, Bradford, Haverhill. Two photographs. First photo, left to right: Stone monument with metal plaque that reads: "The American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions was organized June 29, 1810, in the church that stood here. It has carried the Gospel into many lands and ministered to millions through churches, school and hospitals / MCMX." Second photo is the back of monument with Celtic cross design. First Church of Christ in the background. Written at the bottom of original negatives: "Memorial to Foreign Board of Missions, Haverhill, Mass." Inscription on verso: "Photos taken by Walter Peabody Johnson." Photos are 14 x 9 cm mounted together on cardboard 23 x 33 cm. Dampstaining to cardboard. See HG5.1 Senter HPH 56-787C. |
