Inscription with print in file: "Willam Nelson Kimball House / Built in 1850 (another print in file has date as 1854). View of front and right sides, fence in front and on the right. Trees obscuring most of the front of the house. Three stories, cupola, carriage house in rear on right. It was built as the "finest house in Essex County" / all the framing made of chestnut, sorted 3 times, no knots allowed / Later moved to present location & land developed as Byron St. etc. / note written by Miss Martha Kimball, granddaughter ... Original photo c. 1860." This house may have been number 286 at one time. |
