8th Regiment, Infantry, Company F, officers' wives, Drum Corps, Chickamauga, Ga., 1898. Two photos, different sizes, mounted on each side of cardboard 26 x 29 cm. 1. Eight people, five male officers and three of their wives, most seated under a tent, Camp Thomas, Chickamauga, Georgia, 1898. The men are in uniform with hats, the women are in shirtwaists and skirts and hats. The man standing is on the left of the tent. Other men and tents in the background. Inscribed caption: "Visitor's Day of Officers' Wives / 8th Regt. at Chickamauga Ga. 1898 / 1. [blank] / 2. [blank] / 3. [blank] / 4. [blank] / 5. Lt. Thomas F. Crowley, Co. F. / 6. [blank] / 7. [blank] / 8. [blank]." Photo is abraded. 15 x 21 cm. 2. Major W. H. Thomas' Drum Corps, 8th Regiment, Infantry, Company. Probably Chickamauga, Georgia, Camp Thomas. Five men in suits and hats, seated on their drums with the drum surface facing the camera. The man in uniform and hat standing in the tent behind them is Major W. H. Thomas. Another building is in the background. Inscribed caption: "Major Thomas Drum Corps / major W. H. Thomas (standing) / 8th Regt. M.V.M." Photo faded. 12 x 20 cm. |
