Birchbrow estate, interior. Music Room. Millwork ceiling, fireplace with mirror at far end, Chippendale chairs, piano on right. Former residence of Thomas Sanders & son Nathaniel Saltonstall Howe Sanders. Built 1880-81. Designed by architect William R. Emerson. Inscription at bottom, partly missing with bottom left corner: "[B]irchbrow Home of Mr. Sanders." Inscription on verso: "Music Room overlooking Lake Saltonstall." Photographer embossed at bottom of mount: "McKeen / Haverhill / Mass." See also HS1.1 Senter HPH 35-475A. Photo is 13 x 18 cm mounted on card 26 x 31 cm. |
