Draftees, World War I, farewell at City Hall, Haverhill, 1917. A group of men, probably city officials, are standing on the top of the City Hall entrance steps, Main Street. A large crowd is gathered in the street. Printed caption: "Haverhill Draftees being given farewell send-off in front of City Hall, Sept. 21, 1917, prior to their departure for training camps." This is a later reprint of this photograph from an unidentified newspaper; the font in the caption is different than the Haverhill Gazette caption font in 1917. Print is 11 x 16 cm mounted on cardboard 26 x 36 cm. Housed with Historical Photographic Print Collection. |
