House formerly at 20 Winter Street, Haverhill, or corner of Winter & Pleasant Streets. Wooden house, three stories, view of front and left sides. Gambrel roof, narrow two story addition with entrance on the left. Note with another photo of this view: "Said to have been the Kendall Tavern, which stood at corner of Main & Water St. - moved when the brick Osgood Block was built. Owned by Wm. Smiley in 1850's Later the site of Pickard's Ice Cream operated by Ben T Pickard until 1950's." Copy negative, image is one half of a stereograph, from a series titled "Views in Haverhill, Mass., and Vicinity" by Robinson, probably late 19th century. Negative with others from the Haverhill Gazette, circa late 1970s-1980. |
