Description |
Merrimack Street, Haverhill. On the left side of the street, a man in an open carriage or wagon, hitched to a pale horse, is handing a letter or paper to another man on the sidewalk. Label on slide: "Merrimack St. opposite Haverhill Bank Building. Possibly man in wagon is Alfred Taggart, Insurance[?]." The other man is not identified; other men on the sidewalk. Across the street are other pedestrians and another carriage. Business signs (shoe manufacturers) legible, left to right: Poor & Wheeler; Calvin Smith; Mitchell, Richardson & Co.; T. P. Mitchell; L.
