Armistice Day Parade, Canadian veterans, Mons Post, Haverhill, 1930. Main Street near Monument Square. Soldiers in uniform marching facing left, color guard of two men carrying the American flag and what looks like the United Kingdom's flag. One man is wearing a tartan kilt as part of his uniform. Spectators on the sidewalk. Signs and storefronts to the left: Amirault Bros. with sign for Monarch Paint in the window; Haverhill Tailoring Co.; Goodyear Shoe Repairing Company (117 White Street in the 1930 Haverhill Directory). Inscription on verso: "Photo by John Blacklock / Armistice Day Parade, Nov. 11, 1930 / Mons Post Canadian Vets. 'Scotty' Hill in kilts." Possibly Royal Canadian Legion veterans. Photo is 8 x 13 cm mounted on cardboard 26 x 36 cm. |
