George C. How House, 82-84 Main Street, Haverhill. Three stories, clapboard, gambrel roof, two entrances in front. Side door with steps on the left. Trees in front; trolley tracks in the street. A blurred figure is in the left front door. Another house on the right. George C. How was listed in the Haverhill directories from 1880 at 82 Main Street, print HS1.1 Senter HPH 38-524E lists address as 82-84 with inscription on verso: "'Residence of George C. How / Main St / owned in 1915 by Mrs. Henry P. Tyler / 82-84 Main St / Mr James H. LeBosquet says that the present old Duncan-Carleton Block that is being demolished was built in 1811. The wooden building that formerly stood on the site was taken down by Joshua Griffen and re-erected on land of Deacon Caleb LeBosquet on Main St. where it was used for a Japaned lamp factory until that business became unprofitable. It was afterwards removed to another location further up Main St., the frame being intact, and rebuilt into a dwelling house and was the residence of Mr. Moses E. Emerson. It is the same house now occupied by George How & [blank] Bishop.' Banner 4. Apr. 1879 p. 3 / Last owned by Dr. Reid til 1930?"
