Description |
County Bridge under construction across the Merrimack River, Haverhill and Bradford. Inscription on verso: "County Bridge under construction - 1906." Six photographs, 11 x 13 cm, mounted together on cardboard 36 x 26 cm. Left to right, top to bottom: 1. Lumber by the Merrimack River, Bradford?, worker standing next to the stack of lumber. Small houses in the background. 2. Haverhill, men excavating in a ditch next to the river, pipes crossing the ditch, men in suits, coat and hats standing on the shore above on the left. Buildings in the background. 3. Probably River Street. Trolley tracks in the street, multistory buildings with a small one story building in the center, decorated with a large poster for Haverhill vaudeville star Maggie Cline's appearance in the stage play "On Broadway," showing Maggie and police officer on the street in front of an approaching streetcar. 4. Construction near river: wall on the left; fence, trees and rear of people's houses or apartments on the right. 5. Lumber and metal span pieces next to railroad tracks, probably Bradford. 6.
