Rocks Village, Main Street (later East Main Street) Haverhill, circa 1890. Four multistory clapboard houses on the left, with gable roofs. Trees near the street in front of the first two houses. Boarded over reservoir next to a streetlamp on the left. Inscription on verso: "Photo by Everett Sawyer, Merrimac / (about 1890) / Left to right / 1. Reservoir / 2. Countess house / 3. Moses Jaques / 4. Daniel Donovan house." The Countess House was the home of Mary Ingalls, later Countess de Vipart. This is a later print. See glass negative HH14 Senter G6x8 22-13. Photo is 13 x 18 cm mounted on cardboard 26 x 36 cm. |
