Edwards House, 168 Water Street, Haverhill. Three stories, clapboard, gable roof. View of front and left sides. Intersection with Chestnut Street on the left. Trolley tracks in the cobbled street. Inscription below: "Moses Gale House." Inscription on verso: "Moses Gale's adopted daughter, Harriet Newell, married Moses How & were parents of Geo. C. How. / Moses Gale house / East corner Chestnut & Water Sts. / Also called Edwards House. Built by John Edwards? Torn down in 1932." Inscription with another print in file: "Old Edwards House - formerly home of Moses Gale & in 1850 Moses D. George was living here. It was he who planted the row of chestnut trees along the back garden later became Chestnut St. See James Turner." Photo by George W. W. Bartlett, image probably early 20th century.
