Masonic Temple, interior, Merrimack Street, Haverhill. Large room, the Main Hall, with low platforms on the left and right. Dais at far wall with chairs and two high backed chairs on either side of the carved Master's chair, which is under an apse-like arch. The walls have two paintings, one on each side, depicting people in robes. Altar in the foreground. Inscription on verso: "Main Hall in Masonic Temple." The building was built in 1873, this is a late 19th century photo. Photo is 12 x 20 cm mounted on card 14 x 22 cm. |
