Captain Lyman Worthen, Captain W. E. Allen, Captain W. J. Marston of the Haverhill Fire Department. Studio portraits, head and shoulders. The men are in uniform, wearing hats, with insignia on hats and lapels. Three photomechanical prints of photographs, from an unidentified publication, with a separate text clipping below each man with a one paragraph biography, and inscription "1898." Worthen was born January 7, 1848, joined Hook and Ladder Company 1, then known as the Zouaves, at 17. He then worked for Goodwill Hose Company, Chemical Company 1, The Protective Company, and "this company" not named. See also HH11.2.1 SentrHPH 30-409H. Allen of Hose 1 was born in Norway January 7, 1858. Marston was born in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, July 28, 1858 and learned the shoe trade. in 1874 he went to Manchester and worked at the Amoskeag Machine Company. He came to Haverhill in 1883 and worked at Hose 3, Engine 2, and in 1890 was made its Lieutenant. He was then Lieutenant and then Captain of the Aerial truck.
