Description |
Nahant or Swampscott, forty-two men in front of a house. They are posed in three rows, four men seated on the ground in front, sixteen men standing, sitting or kneeling on the middle, and twenty-one standing in the rear. One of the men in the rear is wearing a white coat and is on the porch of the house. The rest are wearing suits, most with hats. The man in the front row second from left may be Charles Hudson Croy, partner in D. D. Chase Lumber Company, Haverhill. Inscription on verso: "Croy, Charles / Probably taken at Nahant or Swampscott - lumbermen's association meeting?" Photographer's name stamped on verso: "C. A. Sweetser, / Photographs & Tintypes / Relay House, / Nahant, Mass." Photo faded, mount chipped and creased. Image probably late 19th century. Photo is 20 x 25 cm mounted on card 21 x 26 cm. |
