Inscription on housing of another photo: "Mill stones taken from old Peaslee mill at Nicholsville at Brandy Brow Road, given by Geo. M. G. Nichols & erected 1911 / Inscription by Albert L. Bartlett. "To honor Hannah & Thomas Duston whose bones lie opposite in Pentucket Cemetery." Fieldstones of base taken from Summer St. site of old Parsonage / Tablet originally intended to commemorate Dustons changed to honor John Ward & first settlers." Image probably late 19th or early 20th century, slide may be later. |
