Lithograph, view from a hill, cows in the foreground, Haverhill on the right with the Merrimack River, Haverhill Bridge, and Bradford in the distance. Title reads: "From the residence of Hon. E. J. M. Hale / Bradford and Haverhill, Mass." Under image on left: "J. B. Bachelder" and on the right "Lith. of Endicott & Co. N.Y." Under title: "To the Citizens of Bradford and Haverhill this print is most respectfully dedicated by the Publisher." Points of interest printed on the left and right: "1. Bradford Female Seminary 2. Merrimac River 3. Newburyport Railroad 4. Boston & Maine R.R. Bridge 5. Toll Bridge 6. Cemetary." Published by J. B. Bachelder, 1857. Signature bottom right, partially cut off: [J.] "B. Bachelder." Patron identified the view from the hill known as Locust Hill, also the name of Hale's residence. Original print was in color. Black and white negative. See also HG9 Senter HPH 25-346D. |
