Webster-Marsh House, also known as the Marsh House, 26 Summer Street, Haverhill. Formerly the home of John James Marsh, Nathan Webster, Elizabeth C. Ames. Three stories, stone and shingle, flat or hip roof, portico with pediment and bay window above, porch on the right, second floor balcony on the right, dormer windows on rear extension. Vines growing on the front of the house. View of front and right sides. Trees in the front yard and on both sides; the lawn is graded with stone steps leading to the street, a stone retaining wall with balustrade. Another house on the left. Snow on the ground. Torn down in the 1980s. Inscription on verso: "Taken March 13, 1888," after the "Blizzard of '88." Inkstamp of photographer on verso: "E. P. Fowler, / Photographer, / Merrimack St. / Haverhill, Mass." Photo is 12 x 20 cm mounted on card 13 x 21 cm. |
