8th Regiment, Infantry, Company F, Camp Dewey, field exercises, South Framingham, 1897. Four photos, different sizes, mounted on each side of cardboard 26 x 28 cm. 1. Soldiers of 8th Regiment, Infantry, Company F, observing a sword instructor at Camp Dewey, South Framingham, 1897. The soldiers are in uniform with hats, reclining on the grass; some have rifles, some have sabers/swords. Three men in uniform are standing on the right, one is the instructor, Justus Waldemar Svanberg, probably the man with saber/sword in front. Trees in the background. Inscribed caption: "Class in Sword Instruction / Lt. Justus Waldemar Svanberg, instructor." 13 x 18 cm. 2. Eleven officers, 8th Regiment, Infantry, Company F, Camp Dewey, Fall Field Day or field exercises, South Framingham, 1897. Seven are seated; the four men standing behind them may be soldiers (not officers). Tents in the background. Inscribed caption: "Headquarters Capt. Dow & Officers - So.
