Three stories including cupola on roof, clapboard with dark shutters, two story extension in rear, front porch / portico. Stone wishing well on the right. Inscription with print in file: "Maternal Acres." Home of Samuel Elliott, shoe manufacturer. Named "Maternal Acres" because house was on the land of Mrs. Elliott's family, the Ayers. Written on negativbe (reveresed) at top: "Elliott homestead 1928." Black and white copy negative, from the Haverhill Gazette. See print HS1.1 Senter HPH 37-502E. |
