Description |
Bailey's Apothecary, 23 Merrimack Street, Haverhill. Soda fountain and cigar case on the left. Toward the rear is a display holding natural sponges. Counter cases and shelves on the right hold beauty items, photographic supplies (Thomas H. Bailey, proprietor, was an local photographer as well), labeled jars (illegible). A counter with shelves behind it is at the rear, and an office is visible through an arched doorway. The ornate wood trim is notable; Bailey's father owned a sawmill on Fleet Street which excelled in this type of work. See glass negative, HN6.2 Senter G6x8 12-11. May be a later print. Photo is 16 x 21 cm mounted on cardboard 26 x 36 cm; top right corner of photo is chipped. |
