Description |
Children's Entertainment ribbon and program, Haverhill 250th Anniversary, 1890. The white ribbon, left, is printed in black and reads "July 2nd & 3rd / Children's Entertainment / [city seal] / 1890." The program, on the right, is faded; it has a wood engraving headpiece of John Greenleaf Whittier's boyhood schoolhouse, with a verse from Whittier's poem "In School-days," above; under the words "Children's Entertainment, 250th Anniversary," lists music, songs and addresses, by the Lynn Cadet Band, a "Select Chorus of Six Hundred Voices," Haverhill Mayor Thomas E. Burnham, Mrs. J. Houston West (singer), High School Chorus, and Charles Edward Souther, with music under the direction of Prof. W. W. Keays. The background is black or dark blue. Date on slide: Nov 2, 1990, number 27. Image probably related to Haverhill's 350th Anniversary in June 1990. |
