Crowell House, Winter Street at Crescent Place, Haverhill. The 1887 Haverhill Directory lists Crowell's office & home at 31 Winter Street, another inscription with a print in our collection says 51 Winter Street. Three stories, clapboard, cross gabled roof, porch on the right. View of front and right sides. Crescent Place is on the right corner. A low fence surrounds the house. Built for Rev. Arthur Train of First Baptist Church circa 1845. Inscription on verso: "Formerly home of Dr. Crowell / Crescent Place / torn down 1943." Photo by George W. W. Bartlett, 1919, may be a later print. |
