Main Street, east side with Eagle House hotel, Haverhill. View of front and right sides of Eagle House. A sign on the front of Eagle House reads "Furnishings Furniture in this building will be sold at auction Thurs. July 7 at 9AM by the live auctioneer." Posters for Forepaugh & Sells Brothers Circus in a window on the ground floor, dated Mon. Jul. 11 (a patron identified the year as 1910 based on Forepaugh & Sells Brothers history). Another poster is above the block on the right. Pedestrians on the sidewalk, several horses and carriages are in the street. The lunch wagon of F. B. Goodwin is parked on the right (sign reads Night [Lunch?]). Other business signs, left to right: Eagle House Stables; Carter, Russell Co.'s Boston Express; D. C. Rorke & Co. Real Estate Auctioneer; Goodwin's Ladies & Gents Cafe. Trolley tracks in the street. Image probably early 20th century; inscription with print in file: "Photo after 1907;" probably 1910. |
